so once upon a time, [livejournal.com profile] coyotesuspect and I asked ourselves, how might Sam get his soul back? We did not think about Death. Instead we thought about small children, and then I wrote and she illustrated a Supernatural picture book that is going to go on my wall at school, um, as soon as I remember to put it up.

(LET'S JUST PUT UP AN SPN WALL, GUYS. I AM SURE MY ROOMMATES WON'T MIND.)

Anyway, I scanned the pages but my scanner seems to be acting on some principle I don't understand where it only scans select parts of the page, but different ones each time. I think it might only be scanning the part it thinks has crayon on it? BUT THERE IS MORE CRAYON, SCANNER. But I thought I would share anyway, because now that we are officially on hiatus, who doesn't want a picture book?

Title: Sarah and the Soul
Summary: Sam's soul is found by a small child. AU.

Sarah and the Soul
Pictures by [livejournal.com profile] coyotesuspect and words by me, crayons courtesy of my roommate who bought them for everyone to share, and tea courtesy of my other roommate. (Mean comments about my scanner are also by me.)

On Wednesday, Sarah found a soul lying in the street. It was covered in leaves and very dirty.

You might ask, where the hell is Sam's soul's head? And why is there only half a cloud? Reader, I do not know what to say. I could not make my scanner recognize all of Sam's soul.

Sarah took it home and gave it a bath. Once it was clean, it looked like a very tall shadow.

It waved. Sarah waved back.

This picture used to have Sam's soul in it too. Idk, guys. He looked like a tall, clean shadow with Sam hair and he was waving!

Sarah’s mother read them a story. She tucked them into bed. Sarah gave the soul her teddy bear.

In the morning Sarah and the soul had pancakes for breakfast.

Maybe my scanner is just not a fan of Sam hair, idk.

They played hide-‘n’-go-seek in the attic.

Before lunch they made fairy castles in the backyard.

Again, this cut out an astonishingly large amount of drawing, I don't get it.

After lunch the soul helped Sarah make cookies. They were chocolate. The soul had two.

They had a tea party with Sarah’s dolls. (The soul poured.)

After tea they went for a walk. That was where they met the man. The man was very tall, like the soul. He wore a sweatshirt. “I’m Sam,” said the man. “I think you found my soul.”

Sam and Sam's soul both get their hair chopped off. SERIOUSLY SCANNER, WHAT DO YOU WANT, YOU SCANNED ALL OF Z'S DRAWING.

“It’s my soul now,” said Sarah. “I found it. I gave it a bath. I made it tea. I helped it make cookies. You didn't take very good care of it!”

“But I really miss my soul,” said Sam.

It doesn’t miss you,” said Sarah.

Sam looked sadly at the soul. The soul looked sadly at Sam.

I wonder if Sam is just outlined in too light gray or something? WTF SCANNER

Do you?” Sarah asked the soul.

The soul nodded.

Sarah gave it a hug. “Okay,” she said to Sam. “You can have it back. I guess. Since it misses you.”

The soul hugged Sarah back.

Sam helped Sarah sew his soul back on.

And the top of Sarah's head is missing too, idk.

They all had tea before Sam and the soul left. Sam passed the cookies. The soul poured the tea. Sam’s friend Cas passed the milk and sugar.

THE END.
